Street Art of Belgium - Beauty or Destruction?
Street Art of Belgium - beauty or destruction?
Driving around Belgium it's impossible to miss the street art and graffiti as it's everywhere. Ancient buildings plastered with bright colored tags, even while visiting the Manneke-Pis in downtown Brussles (one of the most iconic statues in Belgium) you can see a few tags right behind this piece of history.
Seeing all this artwork excite me at first but at the same time I had mixed feelings about it. Ancient buildings tagged with bright graffiti turns people away - many don't look at this as art work but as vandalism. All art is a symbol of freedom, expression and creativity so I enjoyed seeing all the different tags and creations - you'll have to decide for yourself if it's destruction or beauty. This blog is an expression of our ability to freely travel the world - so part of my frankieboyphotography Instagram I've dedicate to capturing the inspiring graffiti that's spread thru Europe and beyond (click my IG link tagged here to follow this project).
Here's a bunch more images I was able to grab of the street art in Belgium & beyond... can't wait to keep bringing this project to different corners of Europe. Thanks for following us here on Meet You There we're going to have lots of new content soon, we're generating new stuff from our travels here in the Netherlands! Stay tuned...
