Flash back Fridays - Exploring Haarlem, Netherlands
Haarlem, we have so many wonderful things to say about the Netherlands where do I begin: coffee shops, breweries, bakeries, farmers markets and great dining. We spent my birthday in the Netherlands because we wanted to experience Amsterdam and Haarlem's unique cannabis culture first hand. Along with having some great buds to enjoy - we drank countless cappuccinos and had our fair share of espresso shots. The Jopen brewery - a brewery built inside an old church is a must-see when you plan a visit to Haarlem, also their beers are quite delicious as well.
Check out our full post about the Jopen Brewery here - and our favorite beers from Jopen!
Don't buy all your groceries at the super markets in town because Haarlem is home to a really awesome farmers market which take place on Saturday - flowers, baked goods, coffees and fruits to name a few of the delectable items we sampled and took away from the Saturday market.
Haarlem is home to some outstanding photography spots as well - like this windmill (De Adriaan Windmill, Haarlem, NL) pictured below originally built in 1779 (actually burned down in 1932 and was rebuilt in 2002) that I was able to capture with a colorful sun setting background. The canals are beautiful and worth taking some images of - a lot of beautiful architecture spread around Haarlem and Amsterdam so keep your camera ready at all times.
