While recently visiting Prague I stumbled upon a spread of posters advertising the Prague Burlesque. Thinking to myself Frankie and I had never been to a show like this, burlesque could be fun night.  Unknowingly the night we picked to go was their first premiering show. After not being open for a bit of time we were able to get tickets to the re-opening night of Prague’s Burlesque show.

Easily one of our favorite evening we did while in Prague and perhaps from our entire trip. If you’re backpacking on a tight budget – save this as your splurge night.  Traveler note: the Prague Burlesque show is only on Friday Nights. Tickets are about €15 each (standing tickets €15 other option is a table reservation costing more).  Of course you’ll want to try some of their beautifully crafted signature cocktails while your there enjoying the show.

As soon as you walk in you instantly feel like you’ve gone back a couple of decades to the 1920s. We didn’t get the memo but apparently (everyone else did) guests were dressed to impress in the most beautiful vintage dresses and tuxes – guests are also encouraged to dress fancy for Prague Burlesque. Which totally sets the vibe for the whole night - so come prepared with your bow tie and make it a night of traveling back in time.

The New York speakeasy style bar is perfect - they have a delightful drink menu from old fashions to absinthe infused cocktails. But if you’re tight on money they offer huge pilsners for around €5. We bought standing tickets (barside) but for a little extra money you can reserve a couch with a table.  If you're looking for comfort reserve a table but we still had a great time just standing at the bar.  The show itself was amazingly choreographed - beautiful women and intricate props plus some really creative stage setups.  While there is no full nudity during this erotic dance show - keeping the Burlesque concept alive and leaving a little imagination for everyone’s eyes.  There’s quite a variety to the style and type of dancers. Not fitting the typical dancer physique brings you back to the time of Pin ups and when a woman’s body was appreciated in every size, shape and form. The confidence in these women is transparent - a truly remarkable show that I will attend in future trips to Prague.  We recommend you check out the Prague Burlesque show – website can be found by clicking here…
