Exploring Haarlem - Jopen Brewery
Jopen Brewery - brewing fantastic Holland Beers inside a Church
Drinking beer in a church may be seen as sac-religious to some but when heard there was beer being brewed inside an old historic Church we jumped in the opportunity to taste some new brew. While Heineken is crisp and guaranteed to always taste the same - Jopen is a beer you must try if your staying in our near our beloved town of Haarlem. When you first walk into the church like building not to be confused with the cathedral in the center of town - the light cascades thru the stained glass onto the massive copper brewing containers. The vibes inside Jopen Brewery are on point - relaxed, with some bar snacks and also neat views to capture with the camera. If you love flavorful beers and are looking for a neat place to take some photos be sure to put Jopen on your to-do list while in Haarlem, Netherlands.
Beers we tried: the Pilsner, the Witte - the Pilsner was so well rounded in flavor and taste I highly recommend if it's still on tap when you make it there. The Witte didn't excite me as much as Emily's ultra tasty Pilsner - who knew she had such fine tastes for wine and beer. Be sure to check out their entire spread of beers before selecting the one that's right for you - our bar tender was kind enough to let us sample a few first and them remarked "Your welcome to sample them all if you'd like..." Maybe the flight doesn't exist here in Haarlem so get a few free tastes under your belt too. For the beer lovers in the world Haarlem has got your back - this is a must-visit for you. Beer tip: ask the bartender inside Jopen where else you can try some stand-out Holland beer he will point you down the alley across from Jopen brew to a beer house that hosts a wide range of micro brews and more flavors to choose from. Happy drinking, and be sure to enjoy the different tastes of Netherlands beers.
